Super Storms Activities Weather Close Reading

Looking to incorporate weather science curriculum and reading together? This close reading unit is the perfect addition to your weather unit or spring activities! This 5-day unit is designed around the book, ”Super Storms” written by Seymour Simon.

It is designed to be used as a close reading routine, each day building on the previous day’s reading and at the end, students work to respond and create based on the text. Although it was designed this way, the unit does not have to be used this way in your classroom.

• Storm Writings- Five writing prompts based on the book and one general writing paper. Includes self-check rubrics. Perfect for an end of unit assessment! 

• Super Storm Crafts-Easy print, color, and go crafts to complete. Use to decorate student’s writings. Includes templates for: hurricane, tornado, blizzard, thunderstorm, and hailstorm.
